Jamie Yeo (Chinese: 杨薏琳) is a TV host, actress, radio deejay and model, known for co-hosting the ESPN/Star Sports Castrol Football Crazy and Maxis Football Extra television shows in Asia[1] and portraying Tammy in the TV show Growing Up,[2] arguably the role that made her famous.[3]
Yeo was born in Singapore on April 17, 1977, studied in Fairfield Methodist Primary School and Nanyang Girls High School before moving to Dayton, Ohio, for four years, where her father was posted as an engineer in the Republic of Singapore Air Force. She attended Dayton Christian High School and graduated with 'a near 4.0 GPA'. On returning to Singapore she entered Ngee Ann Polytechnic and studied mass communications, graduating in 1998. She began dating DJ Glenn Ong in 2001 and the couple married in New Creation Church three years later, but separated in early 2009.[4]
In February 2009 Jamie started dating English man Thorsten Nolte whom she met at the Prodigy Concert in Singapore The NewPaper reports. Thorsten Nolte and Jamie Yeo got engaged on April 17, 2010 when Mr. Nolte asked Jamie to marry her on a trip to Tokyo, Japan (MSN Interview). The couple are now expecting their first child a little baby girl and they are looking to get married soon (Pregnancy stories release).
From 2000 to 2006, she was a full-time DJ at MediaCorp Radio's 987FM.[3]
In 2005 Jamie started with ESPN and became the face of shows like Nokia Football Crazy and Football Extra. In 2009 Nokia Football Crazy was renamed Castro Football Crazy due to changes in sponsorship and it went off air in 2010.
Besides football, Jamie is a blogger on a website called Stomp which is a youth portal in Singapore and she is a co-owner of a company called UPFRONT MEDIA which is a marketing communications agency in Singapore.
In an interview with TheSportsCampus.com Jamie shared that she is a die hard Thierry Henry and Arsenal fan, and contrary to popular perception showed that she is more than just a pretty face.[5]
